LiSAG Short History
The Licensed Surveyors Association of Ghana (LiSAG) was initially thought of to address the welfare needs of its members. The Association came to being formally on the 14th day of September, 2005 at a meeting at the headquarters of the Survey Department, Accra of practicing Licensed Land Surveyors in Ghana by summons of the Director of Surveys then, His Royal Highness, L/S Naa Alhaji Iddrissu Abu, Kumbung NaaYiri (II)
Prominent at the meeting were Lic. Surveyors’ Samuel W. Kuranchie, B. A. Neequaye, Dr. J. P. Okang, Reginald Esua-Mensah, Alhaji Ridwan Brimah, E. S. Sai, Samuel Atuobi Asare, Isaac, Siaw Adu, Anthony Amankwa, Eric Nortey Engman, Stephen Asiedu, Stephen Djaba, Libi Wura Albert. A. Braimah, Samuel Larbi Darko, Kwame Tenadu and many others from the regions far and near.
The constitution was then drafted, adopted by the members of the Association after which it was registered. Kwame Tenadu Snr, Alhaji Adisi Braimah (Libi Wura), and Stephen Djaba were nominated as trustees of the Association. LISAG therefore assumed a legal persona on 9th February, 2006.
The Licensed Surveyors Association of Ghana (LISAG) has gone through a number of phases in its development as an association. The Association, which started off as a welfare body for its members has now morphed into an association that is championing national agenda such as playing key role in the amendment of the Land Bill and advocacy programs, among other national activities.
